Senior Eric Rothlisberger nailed two goals to lead the unbeaten Wolverines (9-0-1) to a convincing 5-0 non-league win over Lopez (5-4). The victory sets up tomorrow's league re-match with Shoreline Christian at Friday Harbor at 4:30pm.

Rothlisberger converted a breakaway in front of the muddy goal eight minutes into the match to open the scoring. The Wolverines peppered the goal with shots, but the Lopez keeper kept FHHS out until senior midfielder Chris Benz bent a corner kick in to sophomore forward Erik Nash at the center of the six-yard box, who nodded it in at 29 minutes.

The second half was more of the same, with FHHS controlling play but finally converting a left-side cross from freshman midfielder Cameron Byington to a waiting Mario Nunez in front of the goal, which the junior striker tucked away with fifteen minutes left. Moments later, Nunez drove the ball to the endline before dropping a perfect cross to Rothlisberger for his second goal. Lopez allowed an own goal as Byington curled a corner kick into the goal to bounce off a Lopez defender into the net, for the final margin.

The defense of sophomore Kevin O'Connor, senior Daniel Jones, sophomore Shay Byington, and sophomore Louis Paul, led by senior goalkeeper Paul Guard, registered their fourth shutout in a row.
